Garrulous Is The Word of the Day

Today’s Community Business College Word of the Day is “garrulous.”

This is a fun one that can be used as a friendly compliment or as a description of someone who overdoes it on the talking.

The word had a Latin origin from way back in the 1600s where it referred to people who were talkative or chatty.

You can also be called garrulous if you tend to keep talking to the point where your listener(s) are bored – T.M.I. and W.T.M.I. (“Too Much Information” and “WAY Too Much Information”). Garrulousness can refer to some who just talks too much or a person who tends to use seven words when four will do.
